Mountain Bike - Tips To Help You Climb

We reached out to our Mountain Bike coaches to provide some tips to help you climb! See below:


  • Breathe with a steady rhythm, focus on inhaling and exhaling at a steady pace, especially when you are exerting yourself during the climb.

  • Stay seated, if you do not stay seated, you will fatigue quickly

  • Ensure you dial in your rear tyre pressure to help keep the momentum

  • Find a good cadence

  • Keep your legs moving. This is essential to technical sections of a climb e.g. crawling over roots and rocks.

  • Prepare yourself mentally. Focus and ride through the pain. This is what the toughest riders do to get through steep climbs
